Spoken Word & Hip-Hop

iRemix Spoken word & Hip Hop focuses on artistic writing and performance of poetry and song lyrics.
The Hip-Hop (Mc-ing) portion of the class is usually done with a musical background, but emphasis is kept on the lyrics of the speaker. The Spoken Word portion of the class is where students will write and practice performance poetry. Poets either read previously published work or poems specifically written for performance.
Both Spoken Word and Hip-Hop will have the opportunity to create digital publications, CDs, and videos. We will also collaborate with the digital music, design and photography pods.
