Raised on Chicago’s south side, Terrence Thompson has had an interest in film since the first time he picked up a camera at the age of 6. As well as a film Terrence Thompson is also a talented writer. His poem “Let The Beat Flow” was selected out of many to be published in an anthology of young authors. In the seventh grade he was introduced to the Digital Youth Network after school program. He believes becoming a member of DYN is one of the best decisions he’s ever made. By becoming apart of this program he’s extended his knowledge in his desired career field of Film Production and has bigger goals for himself now than he’d ever imagined.
As well as film he still enjoys writing poems as well as short films. He believes the sky is the limit for his future, because of the knowledge he’s obtained from the program. He has done cinematography for Dominus Productions, and had films he’s worked on be entered into the New York Film Festival as well as Sundance.
Terrence wrote his first short film called Division 201 in May 2008 to be produced by the Digital Youth Network. As well as writer he served as cinematographer on production. He plans to open a film production company with his partner and best friend called Powerful Media Productions. He stays focused on his craft, and optimistic for the future that lies ahead of him knowing none of it would be possible without DYN.
